Pinnacles by season

Winter Good

Cool and green after the rains. A good time for hiking, though some days are wet.

Spring Prime

The best season. Wildflowers cover the hillsides from March to May and temperatures are ideal.

Summer Poor

Very hot, often above 100°F. Hike early or skip it.

Fall Good

Cooler days return in October, and condors are often seen riding thermals over the High Peaks.

Local tip

There's no road through the park. The east entrance has the campground and caves, and the west entrance is closer to the High Peaks from Soledad.

Good to know

Pinnacles is one of the few places in the world where endangered California condors are released into the wild.
