The short version: The Smokies charge no entrance fee, but parking longer than 15 minutes anywhere in the park requires a parking tag (daily, weekly, or annual).
How to get it
Buy tags on Recreation.gov, at visitor centers, or from automated kiosks.
This replaced the closest thing the park had to an entry system. Tags are per vehicle, not per person.
