New River Gorge by season

Winter Fair

Quiet and cold. Frozen waterfalls and clear views into the gorge without leaves.

Spring Good

Rafting season begins with high water. Wildflowers bloom.

Summer Prime

Prime whitewater rafting and climbing season.

Fall Prime

Spectacular color in mid-October. Bridge Day (third Saturday of October) is the one day a year you can walk the bridge, and BASE jumpers leap from it.
