Great Basin by season

Winter Fair

Snow closes the upper Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. Lehman Caves tours continue year-round.

Spring Fair

Snow lingers at elevation into June. The valleys green up.

Summer Prime

The best season. The scenic drive opens to 10,000 feet, and trails to the bristlecones and Wheeler Peak clear.

Fall Good

Aspens turn gold in late September and the stargazing is superb. The park's astronomy festival is usually held in September.
