Capitol Reef by season

Winter Fair

Quiet and cold. A light dusting of snow on the domes is a bonus, and you'll have trails to yourself.

Spring Prime

Fruit trees in the historic Fruita orchards bloom in April. The weather is perfect for hiking.

Summer Good

Hot but manageable at higher elevations. You can pick cherries and apricots in the orchards in June and July.

Fall Prime

Apples and pears are ripe in the orchards, cottonwoods turn gold and the weather is ideal.
